MASH MY WEEK! Summary of outstanding news about Internet, Technology, and Social media from August 1-7
This week we will discuss a new way of inviting contacts on Google+ that allows users to send invitations through a link.
We also will talk about the use of mobile devices in the workplace and the increasingly thin line between their personal and professional use.
Finally, we will look at Foursquare’s modification of its brand page publishing system that allows much easier advertisement on the social network geolocator.
Send invitations on Google+

For those who have a Google+ account, there is now a quick and easy way to invite contacts, with the delivery link added to the usual options. Links can be published on websites, sent by email, or released on any channel the user chooses.
The advantage is that you can invite friends to join your social circles without knowing their email addresses.
As Balaji Srinivasab said in his profile , soon when we click on “invite friends,” we will find the link mentioned above.
While Google+ is still working on a trial, invitations by this link are limited to 150 per user.
Bring your own technology

During the last few years, there has been a growing tendency to use smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and other mobile devices for personal as well as professional use.
Prices are making them more accessible, and that, along with improved virtualization technologies and the growth of cloud computing, has led to proliferation of these devices in business.
While allowing the use of these personal technologies enhances employee productivity and satisfaction, there are some risks to be considered in establishing policy for their use. Security is one such issue: the devices are so small they can be easily stolen, and exposure of confidential information is a concern in case of theft as well as during normal use.
Mobile devices no longer serve just professional or personal needs; they integrate both. Companies’ policy planning must address this trend.
Create a web page for your brand on Foursquare

Until now, a company that wanted to have its own Fanpage on Foursquare had to wait until foursquare approved and created it.
Today, any brand can create its own page on this geolocation network. To do it, the administrator just goes to https://es.foursquare.com/login?continue=%252Fcreate_page and registers.Currently, there are about 2,500 company pages, a number that will increase greatly with this new availability. This is an opportunity for restaurants, merchants, other businesses to enhance their visibility on the web.
